My name's Sarah, I am a 25 year old woman who has always had a passion for animals-canine and equine in particular-dreaming that one day my career will revolve around my furry friends.
So, after yet another dull day in the office glaring at a computer screen with the bosses expectations rising and my will to live falling, I decided enough was enough. Lo and behold, Walkawoof was born and I have never looked back!

I pride myself on being a dog-lover first, business-woman second, with my business reflecting that 100% with the flexibility, tailoring and genuine care involved for each and every dog (and owner!) As an individual.

Walkawoof's motto is "Dedicated to happy dogs and happy owners!" Which we continually strive to achieve, if not exceed!

Previous Experience

I have grown up and cared for an array of different animals, from dogs to sheep, chickens to snakes and hamsters to horses! Though I do draw the line at tarantulas, not a fan, I'm afraid!

From a young age I have volunteered much of my time to assist with dogs and horses, responsibilities including pet-sitting, grooming, training, exercising, rehabilitating and competing.

My first ever paid job was as a dog grooming assistant and I studied Horse Management at Pencoed College which included animal science, applicable to most other furry species.

Aside from all that, I have a wide network of doggy friends with whom I communicate with almost daily, and my inspiration, mascot and best friend comes in the form of Roxy, my own 4 year old Boxer girlie!

Qualifications & Training

Enrolled in and currently studying for an Internationally recognised (I.A.R.C.) Statement of Achievement (A level equivelant) in Dog Care.
The course covers the following subjects;
Introduction to dog care, canine biology, dog health part one, dog health part two-illness and treatment, dog breeds, breeding, dog behaviour and training, grooming and other dog services.

I am in close contact with the fantastic volunteers at Cardiff Dogs' Home.

I am also an Emergency Foster Carer for the South Wales Boxer Club.

Dog Walking-Your furry friend is collected on foot and walked in your local area so the walk starts immediately, why pay for your pet to sit in a vehicle and lose walkies time!
Only a small charge per extra dog, prices capped at 4 per owner, so if you have 5+ dogs? The extras come FREE!

Pet-Sitting-Avoid the stress of kennels, let your dog stay at home where they are comfortable, WE come to them in a place they feel safe and secure! Other animals in the household? We'll take care of them too at NO EXTRA CHARGE!

Doggy-Daycare-So your dog is happy on their own overnight and you're on a budget, then let us offer a daycare service instead of an overnight stay to SAVE YOU MONEY!

Grooming-All those little jobs you never seem to get round to, or starting to notice that wet-dog smell? We don't mind! Whatever your dog needs we'll do the dirty work! From nail trimming and ear cleaning, to a full-on bath, blow-dry and brush. If you'd rather keep your bathroom sparkling clean, use mine! You can drop your dog off, or let us collect on foot and have them WALKED as a PART OF THE SERVICE!
