This is a general enquiry into services in my area.
I have recently been to a dog shelter looking for a pet for my sister, and have ended up falling in love myself! I'm trying to establish if it would be a viable option to bring Loxy home with me, as I am a medical student, soon to be a trainee doctor and I work long hours at the hospital.

Loxy is loving but very timid, she has previously been abused and likes her own space and quiet, which is why I think it might just work that her new "kennel" is my living room, if she would settle while I'm out. However, I would need someone experienced an reliable to come and check on her in the day, walk her, and possibly to provide sitting if I'm on a long shift.

This is all hypothetical at the moment, I'm still not sure if the shelter would be happy I can provide Loxy a suitable home. But if she can come home with me, I need to be assured someone gentle and caring will keep an eye on her if I can't be there myself. We have limited history on her, but believe she was previously attacked by another dog, so I think she will be best walked on her own.
