About Me/ Company

Hi we are Alan & Amanda at Hearts & Paws, we have over 15 years experience with dogs, particularly huskies, spaniels, Yorkshire Terriers and Westie's. We have five huskies and a Westie of our own. We have both been brought up around animals all our lives and love animals very much.

Our passion for dogs lead us to an opportunity to work with a husky rescue, which has been an amazing opportunity. We have lots of knowledge on training, walking, behaviour, and diets.

We wanted to offer a service for people like us who struggle to get away on holiday or have a day out but want to know their much loved pets are cared for and safe in the same way we care for them. I know how we feel leaving our dogs in someone else's care, it's important to find someone you trust.

We love all animals, we have had a mix of rabbit's, guinea pigs, geckos, gerbils, fish, hamsters over the years as well as dogs of course. We have fostered huskies over the years and also failed miserably and adopted them all!

We are a very caring here at Hearts and Paws and would treat your pets like our pets. We love to take time to bond with your pet, especially those who are nervous and unsure. We are happy to send daily updates, pictures and offer as much contact as you would like with your much loved best friend.

We are fully insured and DBS checked. We are experienced in dog first aid, dog handling, training and challenging behaviour. We have used specialist care programs for reactive dogs which have been successful. We are experienced in using the correct walking equipment and first aid. We are happy to administer any medication your pet may need.

We love spending quality time with our pets and know lots of walking areas and safe enclosed fields to run around in. Trips to the beach, walks on the Pennine trails, dog meets I know our dogs love going out every day and is important for them to have exercise and the opportunity to be stimulated in different environments.

Our services, we offer dog walking, home visits, pet sitting in your home, pet transport to the vets or groomers, socialisation walks, puppy socialisation and puppy visits. We will work around you and your pet the best we can. We are available 7 days a week rain or shine. We also offer a free consultation to discuss your pets needs and requirements, or any concerns you may have.

Previous Experience

We have 15 years experience with our own pets and the work we do with the husky rescue. We have attended dog training courses, we are knowledgeable in pet first aid, behaviour, CPR, training, lead training, puppy socialisation, puppy training, and the use of correct walking equipment.
