About Me/ Company

I have been involved with working dogs for over 25 years, most of my experience having been gained with the Royal Air Force Police as well as working overseas and in this country in the private security sector. I formed ADG Canine Services in 2007 and have been sub-contracted to train search dogs in a number of disciplines. I am keen to broaden my services by offering a dog walking/pet sitting service within my local area. I also offer a basic obedience, puppy training and behaviour problem service.

Previous Experience

On joining the RAF Police in 1983 my early years were spent training and handling patrol dogs (German Shepherds) as well as having a 3 year tour in Cyprus as a patrol dog handler. I also spent 18 months on the RAF Police Dog Demonstration Team. Upon promotion, I completed my search dog course and became a search dog trainer at the RAF Police Dog Training School.
Following another 3 year spell in Cyprus as the drug detection search dog handler I was employed at the Defence Animal Centre as a trainer and instructor training dogs and handlers for the military, HM Customs & Excise and numerous other agencies.
On leaving the RAF in 2005 I trained as a primary school teacher and worked in schools in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. Since 2008 I have returned to the world of dogs and working in the private security sector training explosive detection search dogs and handlers on overseas contracts.
I have trained fire investigatioon dogs for the Malaysian Fire Department and escorted them to Malaysia to conduct the re-teaming with their new handlers which was a most rewarding experience. More recently I working on contracts in and around London being responsible for the working efficiency and ongoing training of six handlers and 14 search dogs.
