About Me/ Company

We offer dog walking as well as daycare at our home in a rural area between Oswestry and Wrexham. Free trial walk and get-to-know-us session for your dog/s before you take us on! We are a fit and healthy mature couple and Ali has over 10 years experience working at a boarding kennels. We are available 7 days a week due to early retirement- Ali from kennels work and Mike from therapeutic foster care. Until recently we had owned dogs all our lives, most recently lurchers, a collie and a labrador cross, and sadly now find that we are without dogs for the first time in 15 years so would love the opportunity to look after yours. We also have experience of walking and daycare for friends' and neighbours' dogs.
Although our house is clean and tidy we are not at all house-proud and will not mind if your dog lays on the beds/shakes mud up the walls/pees in the birdbath/digs up the lawn/dribbles near the dinner table (as our dogs often did!!) We have a small but secure enclosed garden for your dog to play in and we live near footpaths, fields, woods and the Ceiriog Valley for wonderful walks.

Previous Experience

Ali worked full-time for over 10 years at a large boarding kennels in Shropshire and has wide experience of feeding, handling, dog health and medication and dog behaviour, and has dealt with most breeds of dog. I am very familiar with dealing with nervous dogs and those suffering from separation anxiety. Mike and I have always owned dogs ourselves and Mike has particular experience of lurchers. We also frequently look after friends' dogs. One of our dogs suffered terribly from nerves due to loud noises, fireworks etc so we are both used to this.
We have a particular soft spot for elderly dogs, rescue dogs and those with health or disability issues.

Qualifications & Training

Although we don't have any formal animal qualifications, we do have plenty of hands-on experience and a deep love of dogs.

Relevant Info

Unless requested otherwise, we do not mix dogs or walk more than one owner's dogs at a time. The fact that we work as a couple gives you the benefit and security of both our service but of course we do not charge for two!! We are both used to handling big dogs and Mike is strong enough to handle almost any breed! We are non-smokers.

As a final note- we like to think we are practically capable of looking after your dog to a high standard and just as you would care for them yourself, but we are offering this service because dogs are the big love of both our lives. Since losing our dogs we have become even more a couple of softies over other peoples dogs! Having taken early retirement but still being very fit, we have time on our hands to really take care of your dogs whenever you don't have time to.

We are happy to come and meet your dog/s and give them a walk and get-to-know-us session free of charge to see if they (and you!) find us suitable.
If coming for daycare, we can collect and return your dog in our car if required at a reasonable charge for petrol.
