My name is Jo Andrews I have been lucky enough to be in a position to have the best job in the world. Looking after and walking dogs since 2013.

Previous experience of caring for animals and pets? My dog Bubbles, bichon frise who I lost September 2011 was 16 1/2 she had got through cushins disease, had a stroke April 2011. She was 13 when she was on deaths door, was on vetoryl for the rest of her life,(when first diagnosed, was up all night with her, she was in a traumatised state, I thought that was it. Took her to the vets on a Monday morning, they had no idea what was wrong with her. She was frail, looked like she’d given up, I only expected the worse news. They kept her in the vets for two days, did tests, and didn't know whether I was doing the right thing. I though I may be just prolonging her life, for my pleasure, and selfishness. Im so glad I did. Cost me over 2k but she was an absolute fighter, and had a fulfilled happy loving life, and made it to a ripe old age. I didn’t care what it cost, all I was worried about was what was best for her, and that maybe I was being selfish to keep her alive, as they cant tell you how they feel. Also two years after that she couldn’t walk, she’d yelp if she stood up, I have a tiled floor downstairs, and put rugs down to help her walk, as everytime she stood up she’d fall over. The vets prescribed rimadyl for arthritis these didn’t work. She was still in pain and couldn’t walk far, it was only a relatives sister that worked for a Veterinary surgery told me about metacam, and when I asked for this they said she shouldn’t change, she should stick with rimadyl, I persisted, So metacam gave her pain relief for the rest of her life. I miss her dearly and love the happiness a dog can give. That is why I've decided to pursue this as job as helping families that maybe to busy to walk their dog/(s) or want to have a holiday but dont want to put them in kennels. I had another bichon who lived till he was 15, he had kidney problems and for the last 7 years of his life was on diuretics. Any animal is more of a priority in my life, and I would do anything to make their life comfortable and happy. They give so much love, and gratitude,the excitement of a walk, and I can give them so much back. Its the hardest thing to lose a pet, and when I see people walking their dogs, it makes me smile.

I would never have put my dogs in Kennels, and realise that there are plenty of dog lovers that wouldn't want to put their pets in kennels, that is why I would like to help you out and let you enjoy your holidays or weekends away, or when your working, knowing that you are leaving them in good hands.

I understand that if you have to work, go out for a long period of time, leaving your dog for a long time can stress them out. I can break up their day with a walk, cuddles and love. This is never a chore, but a complete pleasure, when they greet me and understand Im here to walk them. It gives me no end of joy.

Previous Experience

I welcome small dogs to my house if you need a night or weekend away. Or that holiday you have desired but never wanted to leave your dog. I have customers who are so happy to give their dog a holiday with me, and are always so pleased to see me when they come back.

I also offer to house sit if your dog is happier being in their own familiar surroundings.

Qualifications & Training

I have been walking and looking after dogs as a business since May 2013. I have regular customers that are so happy to have found me. I give the animals the love and care they need. I treat them all as if they were my own. I get so much joy from seeing a happy dog.
Recommendation is the best way to trust someone to look after your pets.

Pet visits - cats/Dogs 30 minutes £15 for 2 visits a day

Puppy/senior dog companionship visits - 30 minutes - £10 plus £5 for additional dogs

HOME FROM HOME SERVICES
I board small dogs whilst you go on holiday, or would like a day out, rather than you putting them in kennels. I will make them feel home from home and give them the love and comfort they need. While you can relax on holiday and enjoy yourself without the worry of your dog(s). I update you with photos or text messages to put your mind at ease, as I totally understand how you miss your furry friends.
FROM: £25 per 24 hours. £5 per additional dog - at sitters house
Small Doggie Day rates - 1/2 day £10 up to 5 hrs - 1 day £20 up to 10 hrs - at sitters house

FROM: £30 per 24 hours. £10 per additional dog - at owners property
Bank Holidays - extra £10 per 24 hours.

All owners are asked to supply their own dog food.

I offer a free consultation to get to know you and your dog(s) and to see what best suits you and your dogs needs.
